Meet the Author

Jane Porter

Born in Visalia, California, Jane Porter is a small-town girl at heart. She loves central California's golden foothills, oak trees and the miles of farmland, rich with the sweet and heady fragrance of orange blossoms.

As a little girl Jane spent hours on her bed, staring out the window, dreaming of far-off places, fearless knights, princesses and happy-ever-after endings. Her parents fed her imagination by taking her family to Europe for a year when she was thirteen. That incredible year in Europe changed Jane's life, and overseas she discovered a huge and wonderful world with different cultures and customs. She spent much of her high school and college years abroad, studying in South Africa, Japan and Ireland. South Africa remains a country of her heart, the people, the land and politics complex and heart-wrenching. Jane loved everything about Europe, as well, but felt especially passionate about Italy and those gorgeous Italian men (no wonder her very first Presents hero was Italian).

With her bachelors degree from UCLA in American Studies, a program that combines American literature and American history, she's worked in sales and marketing. Later Jane earned her masters in writing from the University of San Francisco and taught junior high and high school English. She now lives in rugged Seattle, Washington, with her two young sons. She never minds a rainy day, either, because that's when she sits at her desk and writes stories about far-away places, fascinating people, and most important of all, love. Jane likes a story with a happy ending. But then, she believes we all do.

I enjoyed reading all three of these stories. Each can be read on their own or in any order. But, I would recommend reading them in order to fully understand each story and how it all wraps up in the end.

    The Sultan's Bought Bride
Princess Nicolette Ducasse takes on her sister's identity to save her from an arranged marriage to Sultan Malik Nuri. Little does she know, he already knows who she is. It was fun to see Nic plays up the part trying to convince him she is her sister and all the while she is creating feelings for Malik. Will she marry him or will she call it off. You have to read to find out. And, I recommend you read it. It's a great romance.

    The Greek's Royal Mistress
A princess has to live by certain rules, always smile, always be polite, always dress the part and never do anything scandalous. Even when Princess Chantal's plane is going down, she keeps a level head. Her bodyguard, Demetrius, is sitting beside her and helps her through the ordeal by talking and distracting her. He has been secretly hired to protect her from threats made against her. She has no idea who he is until he takes her to his private island where she will be safe. All she wants is to be with her daughter, Lilly, who is being groomed to take over the island of La Croix as queen when she is older. Can Demetruis protect Chantal and reunite her with Lilly? Can he help her get past her late husband's abuse and make her see there are more good men in the world who will treat her with respect? Can he find the suspect who is sending the threats before someone gets hurts? I enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters and the story was a fun read and escape from my everyday life.

    The Italian's Virgin Princess
Joelle Ducasse's life is all planned out for her. She is to marry Prince Leo Borgarde. It didn't matter what she thought about it. The plan was to save her country and provide an heir to the throne. But, can she go through with it after the rush of emotions from losing her grandmother? She has to take time away to get ready for her future. She runs away to New Orleans for a year and becomes a singer like her mother once was and living the life or any ordinary young lady. On her last night she meets a man who she loses her virginity to. She doesn't want to marry having no experience at all with men. So, she chose him for her one night mission. After returning home, she meets the man she is to marry. And to her surprise, it's the same one she met on her last night in New Orleans. Now, all the confusion starts. Can she marry this man, even if it's out of duty? He wasn't honest with her about knowing who she was or who he was. Sure he told her his name, but she didn't recognize it because she didn't even know the correct name of the man she was to marry. Can she put the past and her feelings behind her and find love and marry to save her homeland? This was the last of the Princess Brides stories and all loose ends were wrapped up with the previous two stories. I enjoyed all three books.
