    Good Addition to Your Home Military Library

    The Jane's series of books seems to be hit or miss but this one is a nice addition to any home military library. Nice short biographies for each weapon. Weapon classes covered are pistols, revolvers, submachine guns, bolt-action rifles, automatic rifles, shotguns and machine guns. Great imagery in either photograph (B&W and Color) or illustration form for each entry and most are profile shots which yield good detail. The shotgun section is a bit short, though its always a has-been section in any book so the inclusion here is a treat. A Czech machine gun is surprisingly misplaced in the shotgun section by the way. The binding is glued which makes it problematic considering this is a reference that you'll want to access time and again - so be prepared to put some wrinkles on your binding from the get-go. But overall, you're buying this book for the content. It should fit the bill as a personal purchase or a gift to a gun-nut or service personnel. I personally purchased it to beef up my military guns section of my home library.
