You will laugh, you will cry, you will fall in love! I love love love this story! It hooks you right from the beginning and keeps pulling you along. It has all the right stuff for a romantic story - tragedy, comedy, love, and steamy sex scenes -- not necessarily in that order ;) I highlighted and shared several passages as I read it and found myself staying up late at night just to read one more chapter. But now I'm at the end and this has been my favorite book by Ryan so far! And now a little about the story ... Jane has just buried her 20 year old daughter, Melody. They hadn't been close over the last few years as Melody had become addicted to drugs and alcohol. Jane had helped her get into rehab several times, but nothing had stuck yet. Now she would never get another chance and Jane was left missing her dearly. One day while sitting at the cemetery she saw a young man bring Melody something. Their eyes met and connected and by the time Jane was out of her car and into the rain the stranger was gone. He had left behind a silver dollar minted in 1973 (the year Jane was born). As luck would have it, when Jane went into town to get Melody's things she ran into this young and handsome stranger again. She thinks he must have been Melody's boyfriend. She eventually ends up taking him in and cannot stop thinking about him. She is disturbed by the fact she has feelings for her daughter's boyfriend. They both have secrets, give this story a chance and find out how their's turns out! Favorite passage: She couldn't stop thinking about his kiss -- the way he'd just taken charge and gone for it. The strength of his hands, the softness of this lips was an intoxicating mixture, and the thought of it now made her burn to feel him again.

This has got to be one of the best love stories ever! I laughed, I cried my heart out with the characters. Ryan has done something most men will ever be able to do. He really gets the love of female friends. He also captured the love of a mother for her child. Jane loses her daughter to drugs addiction, and in Jane's efforts to understand her daughter's life style meets a man 15 years younger than her. Ryan tells this love story so sweetly and romantically. There are love scenes but they are sweet, not raunchy like so many today. Look out Nicholas Sparks, there's a new male romantic author, and he is an amazing story teller.

I really enjoyed this book. It was excellent. I was an excellent mix of laughter, tears, and has some sex but not over the top. I will be wanting to read more of Ryan Winfield's books. So far I have read Jane's Melody, Park Service, Isle of Man. I can't wait to read the next in the series of the Park Service. I also need to read South of Bixby Bridge. I have it and will be reading it next. Ryan has a way of capturing your attention right away in the books that I have read and keeps you there. You need to keep reading to see what happens next. Jane's Melody was one that I couldn't put down as I needed to see what would happen next. I think the whole goat thing was hilarious. Parts of it made me cry, some made me laugh. Ryan has alot of talent and I'm sure he will go far as an author. Great Read!!

An amazing journey through life's crazy ups and downs – that is the best way I can describe Jane's Melody. Jane has buried her daughter, Melody, and has to figure out how to move on from the overwhelming emotion to just quit. She stumbles upon Caleb at her daughter's gravesite and then in the city when she goes to her daughter's work. She feels a connection to Caleb which causes her to find him. When she finds Caleb he is in need of friendship which Jane gladly offers. Caleb, in turn, reciprocates for Jane as they both feel a deeper connection. This begins an amazing story of 2 people that many wouldn't see connected finding something within each other that heals both of their spirits. Jane's Melody felt very authentic as she moved through life trying to find a way to deal with her grief ultimately finding herself on the other side.

What a terrific story! I laughed, cried, was angry, fruatrated and happy. I had tears of sorrow and happiness. Once I started reading the story just sucked me in...I was afraid to stop reading thinking the story would go on without me! This story had me calling my daughter just to tell her how proud I was of her and that I loved her. I will be purchasing more books from Ryan Winfield that is for sure....his writing  is unbelievable!!!  Anyone looking for a book that will tuck at every emotion, please purchase Jane's Melody ....it will not disappoint you!!!
