In 1989 she began working for the Washington Post’s The Herald in Everett, Washington, first in circulation and later in advertising where she discovered her talents in art, photography and writing. She left in 1994, spending a year in radio at KZOK in Seattle; in 1996 began working for the Los Angeles Business Journal in advertising.
In 1999, Miss Lewis founded Couples Company, an online resource, community and publication based upon the Eight Stages of Intimacy. Their coverage of these issues has won them over a dozen international journalism awards. In 2008, upon invitation she traveled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and later to England to assist with research on an upcoming book covering the history of the region, oil and politics.
