Overview

From the serene majesty of Mount Fuji to the bustle of its cities, this book takes you on an armchair journey around the fascinating sights of Japan, a nation with an exotic culture all its own.

Japan is an ultra-modern country that is also rich in history. It is also a nation of contrasts, where you can see women wearing traditional kimonos and carrying the latest high-tech electronic gadgets. Ancient temples coexist with sleek high-rise offices, and fast-paced contemporary lives make room for peaceful contemplation.

Japan has a long history of fine handicrafts and arts, including textiles, flower arranging, and origami. Bonsai trees and lacquered ceramics are further examples of objects displaying a breathtaking level of detail and skill.

Many aspects of Japanese culture have filtered through to us in the Western world. This book will take you on a journey to discover their intriguing origins.

    nice book. great condition

The book arrived promptly and in very good condition. Would use this seller again. The book has great photos and some nice copy telling about the country and customs of Japan. Not a travel guide, but some educational value here, anyway
