I was impressed with the story I found in this book. Before read

I was impressed with the story I found in this book. Before reading it, I wasn't expecting such a dramatic story. Now that it is over, I wish there was a sequel!

Rinko is a young, Japanese girl. She lives in California with her parents and two brothers. There are two important parts of American History that are hurting Rinko's life. First, it's the Depression, and lack of money. Secondly, and more painful to Rinko: it's how the Japanese are hated among people.

This summertime story brings out and shows meaningful changes in Rinko's life, and how she things about the world around her.
I really recommend reading this book!

    A reviewer

I felt so bad how they made fun of the Japanese families . For example how they called them Japs. I think the people didnt know what it felt like to be made fun of thats why they make fun of the Japanese ... they thought it was fun . I would also recommed this book because they way that this book make you feels when you read it it makes you fell emotional and sorry for the Japanese.

A Jar Of Dreams, Best Book by far I've ever read!

This Book was the best i've read in a while. It was boring or lousey, it was rolling with excitment. I would give it 5 stars because of it touching and remarkable feelings and thoughts. i never thought how hard it was for a family( Japense family) to believe in this time. With all the people and awful things they do. I would recommend this book for all ages. And parent read this to your children!

Mrs. Mosley's 5th Grade Reading Class

Our class thinks Jar of Dreams started off slow, then got better at the end of the book. A Jar of Dreams was very realistic and full of great details. This book's main character is 10 years old, whcih made us like it even more. We would reccomend A Jar of Dreams to foruth through seventh grade students. Enjoy!!
