According to the sparse liner notes, these recordings were made for transmission by the American Broadcast System. Wherever they come from, they are good-quality tracks, albeit with a fair amount of surface noise, indicating they were mastered from records. The accent is on jazz, with such instrumental workouts as "Swingin' the Blues" and "One O' Clock Jump, " though many of the songs are vocal selections, many of those standards such as "How Deep Is the Ocean" and "I've Got the World on a String."
