Jazz Fest Masters: Bourbon Street Swings

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Scott Yanow
Taken from a series released by Scotti Bros. that was recorded at the 1969 New Orleans Jazz Festival, this CD has selections from a variety of Dixieland veterans including trumpeter Sharkey Bonano's band, clarinetist Tony Parenti, the flashy trumpeter Murphy Campo and pianist Armand Hug who is heard on a trio version of "Tiger Rag." The music is not all that essential but New Orleans jazz collectors will enjoy these somewhat historic performances. There are four other releases in this interesting series.
