Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
In the third installment of Strange Angels, tough girl Dru has finally made it to the Schola Prima, after having escaped the suckers yet again. She is ready to train and learn just what it means to be a beloved svetocha in the Real World of primarily male djamphir. Like everything else in her life, however, this does not end up as planned. Shortly after her arrival, Dru learns that she is not the only svetocha in town, and Anna- is not ready to share her limelight. Dru must find a way to deal with Anna, uncover secrets about her past, and of course- there is always the boy issue as the struggle between Graves and Christophe continues throughout this third novel in the series. Fans of Dru Anderson will not be disappointed with this latest book by Lili St. Crow. Dru continues on as a strong female character, yet her persona remains real in so many aspects of teenage life. She has a true voice that many will identify with, even if her adventures are outside the realms of the ordinary world. Newcomers to the series will find themselves just as enamored with the story as those who have followed since the beginning. This is a gripping book that can be devoured in one sitting. A M A Z I N G

This third book is amazing, I admit some chapters I just wanted to finish already, but I couldn't put it down. I loved Dru's bodyguards, Leon and Kiru, they were cool, and Shanks and Dibs weren't ignored, Christophe(well you know he comes back), and Graves is uber hot and Dru really likes him. You think she'd be hung over Christophe because he is "hot" and her kind, the typical ship at the end of the book, but you'll still wonder at the end and really hope she goes for the boy of your choice. The ending is scary and a big cliffhanger, I wanted to rip my hair out because now I have wait another year for the fourth book!! Dru is still a badass, she let her guard down a few times but she deserves it since she's been through a hell of a lot. The cover is kind of funny because the way Dru and Christoph(??) are dressed has nothing to do with the book. Dru mentions a lot she is not one to dress up or buy fashionable or even epensive clothes. Well anyway, this one was such an awesome read, I wish I ordered an actual book so I can easily flip through my favorite parts, I bought it ebook so it was awesome I got it instantly though :) I LOVE THIS SERIES, and my new favorite character besides Dru and Graves would have to be Shanks, he's just... interesting

    Ok..

There shouldn't even be a love triangle.
    It should be simple.
One boy is a shady flat character who smells like pie.
The other drives the story better than dru despite only being a supporting character.

I'm not sure if it was good character development or just luck on authors part. Graves just seems to work.

I agree with everyone who thought her second guessing graves was a bit weird at the end, where she then goes and fully attaches herself to Chris who's def creepy.
I feel like even tho we get all these pretty words describing how bad or good looking he is-- the guys flat.

Completely turned me off when she didn't run and tear ass looking for graves when he goes missing. ( he's only bent backwards for you)

Instead she states over n over how worried she is accuses him of leaving her, but still does nothing. Felt like that was really just an easy set up for her and Chris to get at each other.

Was kind of disappointed since i liked dru so much. Typical girl goes for hot unsafe guy.
Her character completely unraveled for me right there.

One of the best series I've ever read

I read all these kinds of books, and I have to say, they all kill Twlight. When I began reading Strange Angels, I thought.. Okay this is a little stange. But then everything started making sense. Keep reading this whole series, and I promise you, you won't ever want to put them down. The connection between Dru and her friend Graves is wonderful, and you want them to be together at first. Then you meet Christophe, and you cannot help but feel the pull that Dru should be with him.

    Really Awesome!

I love the Strange Angels series. At first I was hesitant to read the books because I heard it had a lot of swearing. . .but I just decided to read the first book- which did have a lot of profanity in it. But I fell in love with the characters- not Dru so much, she actually annoyed me to know end, acting like she was much older than she was, but I love Graves and Christophe. . .a lot! And the second book didn't have as much swearing as the first and Dru calmed down a bit and had a few breakdowns. And the third book was really good, I can't decide which book was my favorite, but this one really keeps the suspense going. . .I was like- "God, Graves, she likes you, you like her. Kiss her already! Tell her how you feel before Christophe sweeps her away!"
There were funny moments, I love Shanks and Dibs, the bodyguards are cool, I just wish I knew for certain who's on her side and who's a double-agent. I was a little bit agitated with how it was so obvious that Anna was bad and was out to get Dru, I mean HELLO she practically spelled it out for everyone but no one wanted to believe it. And then with Dru how she started doubting her faith and knowledge in Graves got to me too, she acted like he was just some stranger, questioning how well she knew him, but she never questioned Christophe who's a bit creepy- liking her and being in love with her dead mother. That still freaks me out.
I thought I knew who Dru was going to chose- Graves. But then at that last fifty pages something happens, and now- I'm not so sure.
Read this third book, it rocks, I can't wait for the last two books to come out!

    Berrythorn

It all staryed when i was a member of blazeclan led by echostar. I was a mate of a cat called thornspike and we had kits. But one day i realized he was plotting to kill our kits because he said he thought i was a horrible mate. Obviously i shouldnt have heard him say that and he caught me eavesdropping he killed my kits and attempted to kill me. I ran away to your clan and became your mate. At the gathering i saw him and he was staring at me with ice cold blue eyes. I couldnt help but shiver under his gaze and i flinched. He came agter me but i ran awy to the saftey of the xamp. Where i soon had my kits. I felt like i was being haunted for the longest time before i finally caught a trace of him dragging clawkit away which was when i raised the alarm about clawkit missing. I know thornspike killed the kits because i snelled gis scent all over the kits. I didnt tell u earlier because i was afraid u would punish me because i already had another mate. We have to do something about thornspike he got kicked out of echoclan js. Please answer back in your den.

    Good plot but...

I keep reading these stories because I want to see how this painfully slow story arc ends. I feel as a reader that lili st crow does not trust me to remember what happened in the last two books and I am sick of hearing the same scenes and descriptions told over and over again. As someone who likes to write I find myself irritated with her simple comparions that half the time dont even relate to the matter at hand. At times st crows writing is imaginative and has the ability to truly bring the characters to life, but her constant repetition kills it. We know that christophes face is perfectly angled already! Jeeze.

Best in the series so far!

The best in the series so far, BY FAR. I loved every part of this installment. It was face-paced, action-packed, romanced up, fierce, and kick-ass.

We start off where we left off in Betrayals. Dru is at the Schola Prima, with her pals Shanks and Dibs and her maybe more than a friend Graves. Things are very different at this new school then they were at the reform school, but there is still a traitor and still someone out to get her. With her new classes and new bodyguards, Dru is trying to come to grips with being a Svetocha. Also, not to mention she's trying to figure out who's trying to kill her, how to help Ash, and if she has feelings for Graves or Christophe...maybe both.

Things definitely heat up in this installment. So many more secrets are spilled, Dru matures and learns, and finally, finally the romance picks up. I still love Ash's role and really hope more becomes of him in the next two installments. I also think the story line in the third book moves so much smoother than the first two. I'm not sure why, I just enjoyed reading Jealousy much more than the others so far. The action flowed perfectly in this one, not too much and too little. We actually got to see some classes and fights and how Dru enjoyed them. And finally, we got to see some romance. Between both boys. I think Graves just seems so hot and cold to me though.

That being said, I'm a Christophe girl. Yes, at first I was like wait you liked her mom too... that's messed the eff up. But, as I read it seemed as if it went one way. It seems as if her mother was never in love with him and it seemed, at least to me, that Christophe was in lust with her... where as he seems in love and vulnerable with Dru. Whatever though, I'm team Christophe all the way. Lightning blue eyes, strong and protective, and I mean HEELLLLOOO *spoiler* he took bullets for her and put himself in pain for her! So yes, I love you Christophe, call me any time. ;)

Anywho, I loved Jealousy and I can't wait to start the next one. PS. Still wondering what Dru's name is short for. Hmmm. :)

    Decent

These books have so much potential, which makes them all the more frustrating. I definitely think reading this one was better than listening to the audio, which I did for the first two. It's partly the narrators voice, and partly the way she says things, but I didn't find the characters nearly as annoying this time around. That being said, here is how they annoyed me. :) I get that Graves and Dru are 16, but really? Awkwardness is one things, but it is very emotionally unfulfilling when your two main characters have entire conversations make up of "um"s and "jeeze"s. That's fine every once and a while, but they need to eventually talk things out, or the reader at least needs to be able to understand their underlying emotions. Graves' were very unclear for me, and I kinda wanted to smack him. His actions made no sense what-so-ever. And Christophe... Dru was right, it is creepy. She's 16! It's kind of a pathetic love triangle.

Onto other things. The plot development was painfully obvious, they could have made it a little less glaringly clear who the bad guy was going to be (not tooting my own horn or anything, but I knew since the last book). And once again, I felt like Dru just bumbles around the majority of the time. Although again it was obvious what had happened before it was revealed, the 'twist' at the end is definitely an interesting lead in to the next book.
