About the Author
Jean Watanabe Hee is a former elementary school teacher who taught in Hawaii for thirty four years, including thirteen years as a kindergarten teacher at 'Aikahi Elementary School in Kailua. While she loved teaching, she found great satisfaction in being able to spend more time with her family and cooking in her kitchen. After her retirement, she began organizing the many recipes she had collected from family and friends over the years. Her first cookbook Hawaii's Best Mochi Recipes became a bestseller and it led to her popular series of "Hawaii's Best" cookbooks, featuring many easy-to-prepare local recipes.
