My Man Jeeves

Extricating Young Gussie

Right Ho, Jeeves

Jeeves is a fictional character in a series of humorous short stories and novels by P. G. Wodehouse, being the highly-competent valet of a wealthy and idle young Londoner named Bertie Wooster created in 1915.
Both the name "Jeeves" and the character of Jeeves have come to be thought of as the quintessential name and nature of a valet or butler, inspiring many similar characters. The premise of the Jeeves stories is that the brilliant valet is firmly in control of his rich and foppish young employer's life. Jeeves becomes Bertie Wooster's protector and all-purpose problem solver, devising subtle plans to rescue Bertie and his friends from tiresome social obligations, demanding relatives, brushes with the law, and, above all, problems involving women. Wodehouse derives much comic effect from having Bertie, his narrator, remain blissfully unaware of Jeeves's machinations, until all is revealed at the end of the story.

Classic tales of hapless Bertie Wooster and his man Jeeves. I found the formatting and font on the ebook easy to read. The chapters were hyperlinks so you can jump to the story you want to read. This is a good collection for those who love P. G. Wodehouse. Not all the stories are here, though, so don't expect a complete library of Jeeves. The cover image is dull.

What can be said about Jeeves and Bertie. This is Wodehouse at his best. Entertaining, humorous, witty, and a satire at the same time.

This is the real Tobasco. Hot stuff. You'll crack a grin on every page. You'll want to go out and buy a pair of spats and drink a gin fizz. When world events weigh upon your mind, enter the hilarious world of Jeeves and Bertie Wooster. Where Jeeves helps Mr. Wooster not get the girl but lose the girl, so they can continue in their peaceful, bachelor co-existence without the rules and social burdens brought by female intrusion. Chin-chin and down the hatch.
