A jagged lightning bolt glowed and shimmered.
"Neat!" said Jeremy. He picked it up.
It felt warm.
His fingers tingled.
"Put that down!" screeched Mr. Magnus. "Can't you read? DON'T TOUCH!"
Everything swirled around Jeremy.
Mr. Magnus cried, "He's not ready! He didn't read the rule book!"

What will Jeremy do when he finds himself on Mount Olympus, home of the Greek gods, with Aristotle, the cat, who all of a sudden can talk?

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Jeremy is no hero and he told Aristotle the cat just that. But Aristotle needed a hero and took Jeremy back in time to Mount Olympus. He needed a hero to help solve the thunderbolt problem plaguing the Enchanted Theater. Jeremy goes through a number of exciting adventures to help accomplish the quest. Readers and listeners will first need to be introduced to or have an understanding of Greek mythology and its vocabulary. A glossary or reference sheet with the following terms would be most helpful (Greek mythology, time travel, Zeus, muse, hero, Mt. Olympus, Hermes, quiver of arrows, nymph, and others). This short chapter book is suitable to be included in an advanced educational program or a classroom book collection along with age appropriate mythology stories. 2004, Orca Book Publishers, Ages 7 to 9.

Meet the Author

Jessica Milne is from the Comox Valley and grew up painting, drawing and taking photographs. Throughout her childhood she was balancing her time between visual expression and riding horses, canoeing and skiing.

Jessica completed a double diploma in Fine Art and Graphic Design in the spring of 1998 from North Island College in Courtenay for which she received the Governor General's Award for outstanding achievement. She went on to the University of Victoria where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honours in the fall of 2001.

Following her graduation from the University of Victoria, Jessica spent time teaching drawing and painting to adults and taking photographs for weddings. Along with that she discovered the magic of illustrating children's books. She has always had a passion for picture books and feels incredibly honoured to be one of the illustrators working with authors at Orca book publishers.

Jessica is currently finding a balance between being a new mum and illustrating the stories or poems that come her way.
