Jessie is a Jewish girl born in London's east end in 1905, her father Ruby a Russian immigrant, becomes a big star of the Music Hall. Jessie is befriended by Marie Lloyd the Queen of the Genre. She transforms from a cockney tyke into a leading lady of the london stage, Eventually her fame takes her to Hollywood and Broadway.She has a turbulent love life and a busy social life amongst the creme de la creme of the Riviera set. She becomes friends with Winston Churchill and survives two world wars. Tragedy strikes her down, but Jessie is a survivor as well as a Star.
