a good recording, but not as edgy as the original

This recording is a little more operatic than the original recording - all in all very high quality in every way, but it isn't a "rock" album so much as a musical. The real shining moment in this is Alice Cooper's performance in King Herod's song; by far the best performance of this particular track anywhere!
