Overview

"I came to them wearing robes because they wore robes. I come to you in blue jeans because you wear blue jeans."

So begins Laurie Beth Jones's joyful, inspiring book about how to add grace and spirituality to our everyday lives. Imagining Jesus as a man of today, she finds relevance and inspiration not only in what He said, but especially in what He did. His actions follow from the four qualities that define His personality and attitude toward life:

  • POISE
  • He didn't take things personally
  • He trusted his instincts
  • He didn't flinch at the critical moment
  • PERSPECTIVE

  • He recognized true worth
  • He knew that success is cumulative
  • He wasn't attached to form
  • PASSION

  • He practiced his highest talent
  • He shared his life force
  • He locked onto his destiny
  • POWER

  • He had no sense of entitlement
  • He was authentic
  • He led them with kindness

In the final volume of her trilogy that included Jesus, CEO and The Path, Laurie Beth Jones explores Jesus in Blue Jeans: A Practical Guide to Everyday Spirituality. In this book, Jones characterizes Jesus by his poise, perspective, passion and power. Each meditation on one of Jesus' qualities contains questions intended to help readers to implement the meditations in their lives.

    Incredibly Wise and Serene Book

I read a lot of philosophical and inspirational books including Eastern spirituality. Laurie Beth Jones 'Jesus in Bluejeans' ranks among the best. The author begins each passage with a relavent true life story and then offers parallels from the teachings and experience of Jesus. I found many passages in Jones' book appropriate to my life, its mysteries, challenges, and accomplishments. Each section of the book offers an approach to wellness in our complicated lives.

Jesus in Blue Jeans Inspires Me

As a Christian, I am constantly being challenged to be the best I can be. In reading Jesus in Blue Jeans, I am always fascinated in how Jesus taught by using parables. You can see how he lived his life here on earth and use his examples to guide us in ours. Laurie Beth Jones used practical examples and after each chapter, she asked us questions and gave us a prayer to make us think of ways we can improve ourselves.
