Now available as a board book, Warnes's interpretation of the popular hymn racks up big points for its beguiling watercolors of a friendly bear family whose straightforward piety is rooted in the affection among parents and child. Young audiences will gravitate to the cozy scenes: a parent encircles the cub in his arms to read in bed from "My First Bible," the bears dye Easter eggs ("as He loved so long ago"), garden, make gingerbread bears and roast marshmallows, among many enviable activities that frequently show them in tune with the natural world. Rounded corners and padded covers make this volume extra-safe; gilt edging cues in kids to its special contents. Ages 2-5. (Jan.)Copyright 2007Reed Business Information

Meet the Author
Tim Warnes (Papa Bear) has his home in the countryside of Dorset, England, with his wife, illustrator Jane Chapman (Mama Bear), and their son, Noah (Little Bear). When asked how he felt about illustrating this book, Tim says, "My Christian faith is central to my life, so I jumped at the challenge to illustrate Jesus Loves Me! what a great way to use the gift God gave me!" Tim has drawn closely on his own experiences to give us a pictorial celebration of family life, and to share God's love for all of us. The hens you see in the pictures are from Tim's very own backyard.
With over forty picture books currently in print, award-winning illustrator Tim Warnes has been published in more than twenty countries. This is his first book with Simon & Schuster.

This is a great little book with the words every little child needs to hear..."Jesus Loves ME"
In the front of the book, I wrote "God/Jesus' Love flows through people who show Love to you. Can you find Jesus' Love for you in the pictures?" Then I labled "Family" under the family photo, "Reading to you" next to the bedside table, "Doing Chores together and Playing together", and "Teaching you about God's Earth" on the next page. Then in the speach bubbles of "Yes, Jesus Loves me!" I added "Through Dad....Through Mom....Through Me." Then, on the next page I added "Taking care of the little ones", then "Teaching Values" at the framed wall hanging. Then "Sharing and Caring for others" on the next page. And then "Joyful Singing" on the following page. This deepens the meaning of the text delightfully. Yes, buy it.
this book goes right along with the song
My kids love this book! The illustrations are fantastic! We need more kids books about Christ.
What a sweet book. The story is timeless. No matter how many times you hear it it is still precious. This has been our new favorite book to give to our friends who are becoming first time grandparents for them to keep and read in their home with their new little ones.
