Overview

The scope of the subject presented in this work is expressed on the title page. It will be readily seen that the author has departed from the course usually followed by writers on the Life of Jesus Christ, which course, as a rule, begins with the birth of Mary's Babe and ends with the ascension of the slain and risen Lord from Olivet. The treatment embodied in these pages, in addition to the narrative of the Lord's life in the flesh comprizes the antemortal existence and activities of the world's Redeemer, the revelations and personal manifestations of the glorified and exalted Son of God during the apostolic period of old and in modern times, the assured nearness of the Lord's second advent, and predicted events beyond--all so far as the Holy Scriptures make plain.
It is particularly congruous and appropriate that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints--the only Church that affirms authority based on specific revelation and commission to use the Lord's Holy Name as a distinctive designation--should set forth her doctrines concerning the Messiah and His mission.

I'm very pleased to have this in my tablet. I'm almost finished reading it for the second time in the hard copy - 1 chapter to go. It's going to be so convenient now, having it in my tablet. It comes with all the author's notes (commentaries) and footnotes at the ends of the chapters, just like the hard copy. Elder Talmage helps bring so much to light. This book is a great way to get to know our Savior better! Such an inexpensive way to gain such valuable knowledge!

I wanted a reference for Christ and his life. A timeline of sorts written in a language I could understand and this was perfect.

What a great Edition! Hardcover Durability, with large enough font size to make reading comfortable, unlike the tiny-print Missionary Reference Library editions. In a house full of kids, the durability is really, really helpful. Thanks! :-)

I challenge you to see if you can read this book only once! Like I did, I bet you'll read it again and again. If you are a Christian, or want to learn more about Christ, this is the place.

This book stands as a witness of Jesus Christ, and reveals the life of Christ as only an Apostle could.
