Is the historical Jesus something less than the Bible says he is, as modern scholars contend? Or is he in fact everything the Bible says he is? Jesus Under Fire is a timely, well-researched, understandable refutation of recent liberal interpretations of Jesus--one that thinking, open-minded people, Christian and non-Christian alike, will appreciate.

This is a summary of NT scholarly work which supports the traditional view of Jesus, as opposed to some more radical work (i.e. The Jesus Seminar) which basically opposes most traditional views of Christ, His Life and Teachings. If you have ever come across some of the controversies generated by the more radical research, this book is a fine antidote in that it provides discussions in carefully edited chapters prsenting the evidence of more conservative (oh how I hate that word for what it has come to mean), viewpoints. While I do not agree with all that is in the book, I do feel it is an indespenible part of every minister's library!

The Jesus Seminar has been much hyped by the liberal media. But its rationalistic fairy tales are masquerading as facts. This book helps the reader see that the Jesus Seminar is completely unsound as it tries to deny the authenticity of the teachings and actions of Jesus Christ. Must reading!
