Overview

Spielberg, Brin, Dell, Seinfeld—phenomenally successful . . . and Jewish. Why have Jews risen to the top of the business and professional world in numbers staggeringly out of proportion to their percentage of the American population? Steven Silbiger has the answer. Based on the author's synthesis of wide reading and research, The Jewish Phenomenon sets forth seven principles that form the bedrock of Jewish financial success. With startling statistics, a wealth of anecdotes, and the fascinating details behind some of America's biggest business success stories, Silbiger convincingly shows how these seven keys have helped the Jews historically and how they continue to ensure Jewish success today. More important, the author makes clear that these principles are equally at the disposal of Jews and non-Jews alike. The amazing success of the Jews simply proves that they work. The Jewish Phenomenon pays tribute not merely to the success of a people but to the commonsense wisdom and enduring values that can enrich us all.

Applying the Jewish Phenomenon to your life

I read this book in 2002. It was easy reading with great impact. The book gets straight to the point. It was this directness that prompted me to apply the readings to my own life. It has made me wiser. It has made decision making much easier. I no longer waste my time and money. I have a better quality of life, as a result. This has been one of the best books that I have read in years. This book helped me to decide that I would personally send any of my family members to college with an interest free loan, instead of subsidizing them living outside of their means. It helped me to realize how to help my family members and close friends get a very nice headstart in life to ensure a comfortable lifestyle in the future. Not just for them, but for future generations as well.

    Fascinating

This book is fascinating and speaks in simple english what traits makes jewish people more successful. Its actually very interesting to read about things that you do, thinking you are the only one that does it, but in actuality, it is part of the values that are we are brought up with. Thank you for writing this book. It helps me explain some things to my non Jewish friends on why we are the way we are.

    This book is a phenomenon!

I must say this book is a phenomenon! Not only is it well written and easy to follow, but it also contains practical information that is easy to implement. I have always been interested in the culture and family life of the American Jews. This book has given me a glimpse into their philosophy and habits. The author gives statistics, but he does not go overboard. As a Cuban-American, I noticed some similarities with what my father told me to be and do, and what the jewish parents tell and teach their children. I've got three keys down, I have four more to go. The minute I got this book, my father wanted to borrow it. I did not highlight any part of the book because I did not want to spoil it for him. But I will do it when I get it back. The humor the author includes is hilarious.
