The joyous holiday feeling around Gilbert's house comes alive in warm, colorful, and humorous scenes. And every child who's ever put off a chore will sympathize with him when Monday morning rolls around...
Gilbert forgets to do his homework over the weekend because he is busy playing in the snow and getting ready for Christmas, but then he comes up with a solution at the last minute.

I love this story. Even my third grade students enjoyed it. For those students who love to procrastinate about homework, this really hit home with them. They were into the story and thought, "wow, that's me". I would recommend this story for any Elementary age. The discussions were great about how to "prioritize" homework with play. To the students, realizing the more important issues sometimes don't always materialize easily. Stories like this help them. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
