The hilarious adventures of Danny Shine continue! What's worse than being a Loser? Being a JINX!

Danny Shine doesn't care about his school's baseball team, the Woodchucks. But he's kind of having fun sitting right behind third base at the big game. He even catches a foul ball -- but that means the Woodchuck third baseman doesn't catch it, and the team loses. Suddenly, Danny finds himself back at Square One: Loserville.

When the Ferris wheel at the school fair breaks while Danny's on it, he gets a new reputation as the school jinx. Can he break the curse before he ruins everything he touches -- including his relationship with the super-cool girl of his dreams, Asia O'Neill?

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Praise for LOSER LIST

"The story unfolds in a handwritten-looking font on lined pages amid ample spot illustrations. Danny's cartoons, sidebars, and lists ("Top Three Signs You're Going to Summer School") should enhance the book's appeal for reluctant readers." --PUBLISHERS WEEKLY

"Danny's humorous line drawings help tell the story, making this a fun and accessible book for reluctant readers and comics fans." --BOOKLIST

Praise for LOSER LIST #2: REVENGE OF THE LOSER

"Written in the same style as the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books (Abrams), this title will definitely appeal to reluctant readers." --SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL

"Danny's lively, humorous journal-like narrative, which is interspersed with his cartoons, incorporates issues ranging from insecurity and jealousy to appreciating others. An entertaining school-centric read that's ideal for reluctant readers and comic-book fans." --BOOKLIST

Children's Literature - Sarah Maury Swan
Comic book geek, Danny Shine accidentally interferes with super-athlete Luke's chances of catching a game-ending ball, causing his school's team to lose their first chance ever to win the city-wide championship, our loser buddy is toast. It wasn't really his fault, but nobody in school believes him. And the jocks are out to get him. Matters only get worse when the school principal threatens to ban all after-school sports because the fans went berserk and trashed the field. Danny is pummeled every time he turns around almost by the whole school. When the class goes to an amusement park and the new super scary roller-coaster breaks down while Danny is on it, he is blamed. Then he starts being blamed for anything that goes wrong at school. To make matters worse, their English teacher pairs Danny and Luke to work on a public-speaking project. Surely nothing else can go wrong. But it can if you are jinxed. Danny hasn't even begun to imagine what can go wrong, or how he could possibly fix it. Kids will enjoy this watching Danny learn to deal with his mistakes and maybe learn how to fix them as well.
