Vowing not to rely on another man to guide her life, Afia refuses her godfathers' help, and jumps at an unexpected job with Leeds Investigations. With a pregnant, broke, sister and an investigation agency in the red, control-freak Jake Leeds can't turn down the hefty but secret retainer offered by Afia's godfather for hiring her. But life is never easy for the woman born on Friday the 13th. Will the sexy PI be the good luck charm that puts her on a winning streak or, like everything else in her life, will their relationship wind up Jinxed?

I would never have picked up this book based on the cover. However, the reviews of this author were very good so I took a chance, and I'm glad I did. The story was entertaining and fast paced with witty dialogue. A very enjoyable read.

I really loved this book! It's a fun read with a totally original plot, and a hero and heroine that completely charm your heart. Ms. Ciotta has a really fresh, quirky writing style that, by turns is wildly funny and heart-touching. The Atlantic City setting is different, too, which I liked. Oh, and the 'secondary love story' is definitely original. I think everyone will love these characters and root for them to win!

The book this review is about is Final Vector. It was a quick read that kept my attention, I did not want to put it down! It is written about a regular person for regular people. I reccomend it highly, worth buying but glad it was free!

Im reading the reviews of the book Final Vector and all the reviews seem to be about another book by another author named Beth Ciotta where this book was written by someone named Alan. Im not sure what is going on because I went to the direct link from the Final Vector homepage.

A fun action packed read. I had a hard time putting the book down. The characters are believable and you will find yourself hoping they succeed in their quest.

Some of the reviews posted here are for Beth Ciotta, not Allan Leverone, so the rating's probably not accurate.

Good, strong characters and story. No stupid rollercoaster just a good story and strong female lead.

Good but the ending left the reader wanting a fuller development of that ending.

The story was cute and the characters were funny and clever, reminisent of Janet Evanovich. The story could have benefited from a little more effort at the end, it was as if the writer could not think of how to wrap it up. But the story was good overall and I think future books will be even better.

Wonderful read. Could barely put it down. Characters were well developed, had definite sense of humor, and made the story flow beautifully. Loved getting to know Afie and see her change into a strong character while retaining her sweetness. Story had the feel of Legally Blond mixed with Cinderella.

review Afia, a very well-to-do young woman has suddenly fallen on hardtimes. Her business manager embezzled ALL of her funds. Although she has volunteered and sat on several boards, she really doesn't have any marketable skills. Her godfather offers to help her out, but she wants to make it on her own. So she moves in with her gay best friend/chauffeur. Afia believes she is jinxed because she was born on Friday the 13th and her mother has fostered that belief. Jake is a "gumshoe" who has done some work for Afia's godfather. When he is hired to "keep an eye" on Afia and to hire her as his much needed assistant, things go from bad to worse. Afia drops the files she is suppose to file, messes up his accounts receipts and just generally makes things messier. Yet they both feel the chemistry. Jake takes Afia on a surveillance mission with him, to keep any more catastrophies from occuring, and finds that Afia really seems to have a knack at helping solve the cases. This story is filled with fun and passion. I loved every minute of it.

You will love it!  I was once again utterly charmed by Ciotta's writing. Romantic comedies with a hint of mad cap can so easily slip into awful. This one stayed fun and sexy all the way.  I love this kind of heroine (a little like Private Benjamin without the whine and horrible taste in men) quirky, sheltered, kind, accident prone,  hard working and regaining her herself.  The hero is simply poleaxed. I love a pole axed hero. And he has cats. Great cats and an sexy PI. Yum. The mystery is fun and gives us a good bit of action and the secondary characters are wonderful. I love Jake's sisters.  If you want charming, sexy, delight, read this one!

Very well written tale of a terrorist cell and their plan to take down Air Force One. Moves at a good pace and has nicely filled out characters.
