Jirel of Joriy is a fierce commander of warriors. She has very high proud and she is relentless. Her long, wavy, red hair and her yellow eyes ar like burning fire. Her armor and smeared with blood as she stands tall before her enemies. In the book Jirel has died in her bed from a wound she had recieved by a foe she was fighting. Her body and sould was brought to the dark land of Romne by its ruler Pav. Pav was of flesh and blood. HIs figure is life size and like a statue or black stone. He wants her to be his bride and rul the land of Romne with him. A quote from the book 'Yes,' he said at last 'you have traveled too often in forbidden lands, Jirel of Joiry, to be ingnored by us who live in them. And there is in you a hot and savage strength in which no other woman in any land i know possesses. A forece to math my own, Lady Jirel. Non but you is fit to be my queen. So I have taken you for my own.' This is an exciting, adventourous book, Jirel travels to many forbidden lands where very few or no human has gone before. She comes across many challenges. I was 'inside' the story through the whole book. It has great detail and usage of words. I recommend this book to all who love to read.
