Children's Literature
JJ Rabbit can't figure out what or who is making the huge footprints outside his burrow. He question his neighbors, Mole, Owl and Squirrel. They are also confounded. To solve this mystery, they decide to spend the night with JJ. Once the mystery is solved, they all claim that they weren't the least bit frightened. In the second story, JJ Rabbit and his friends decide to go out and have an adventure. While they think they don't have one, young readers will know that the foursome really did have quite an adventure. The easy-to-read stories are accompanied by Ant Parker's colorful and amusing illustrations. A pleasant selection for those just starting to read stories on their own. Part of the "I Am Reading" series. 2000, Kingfisher, $3.95. Ages 6 to 8. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
