Joe Leydon's Guide to Essential Movies You Must See: If You Read, Write about--or Make Movies

I'd put this right up there with Roger Ebert. The analysis is on point and the style is fluid. All in all, a top notch book.

Joe Leydon's Guide to Essential Movies You Must See: If You Read, Write about--or Make Movies

This is a great book for anyone who loves movies. It tells you why some movies are so influential or so great but it isn't snobby at all. It's a lot of fun to read even if you're not studying film.
