The brother of England's most renowned wood engraver of the time, Thomas Bewick, is the focus of the second in a three-volume series on illustration during the 18th and 19th centuries, the other two considering the Beilby-Bewick workshop. The catalogue is arranged by sections on books, broadsides, and periodicals; newspapers, puzzles and games, book plates, handbills, and trade cards and billheads; woodcuts for ephemeral and unattributed publications; unattributed book illustrations; and miscellaneous woodcuts. A catalog of Bewick's library is appended. Many of the woodcuts are illustrated.
