I own almost every LP/CD available and many with him as a sideman. His sound is like a bird in the wind, and this book puts you in the mood to hear more. I think the individual solos create another feeling inside this book as well. It also put in perspective his feelings during his later years when I really couldn¿t understand his concepts. The book also put a closing for me whether he was or wasn't taking LSD during those last years which explained his transformation from a beautiful tenor to an enraged soprano soloist. I recommend you get the CD¿s ¿Kind of Blue¿, ¿Coltrane Jazz¿, ¿Ballads¿, ¿Crescent¿, ¿Giant Steps¿, and ¿Love Supreme¿. Listen to the solos and read this book. Was this review helpful?
