John & Jen: A New Musical [Original Cast Recording]

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
John & Jen is a two-person musical, and the original cast recording is performed by its stars, Carolee Carmello and James Ludwig. The music runs the gamut of Broadway show tunes, alternating between brisk uptempo numbers and showstopping ballads. On this recording, the ballads rank as the most powerful, affecting cuts, but several of the lighter tracks are worthwhile as well. Nevertheless, the music isn't distinguished enough to make the disc compelling to anyone who isn't a dedicated fan of musicals.

    Unknown Show with Great Music

I was fortunate enough to have seen this show at competition or else I might never have encountered it. This is a short play that has some powerful music despite the fact that it is unknown. I highly encourage anyone to buy this. The music featured is phenominal and the story itself is heartwrenching. Please don't pass this gem up!
