The Beatles - Before, during and after

My husband gave me this book as a Christmas gift. Last October, he rented A Hard Day's Night, and I've been a fan ever since.

I have enjoyed reading this book. Tim Hill certainly covers a wide range of the various aspects of their lives.

The book gives an equal amount to each Beatle. Also, it gives both the positive and negative aspect of intense stardom. When someone is that famous and popular, their career controls them as opposed to the person controlling their career. This book reveals that.

The pictures are great and the timeline is informative. The book is not "gossipy." I have no hesitation in allowing my children to read the book. It's for adults and kids.

Since the book is so large, there is always some part of it that I haven't read. I can keep going back to it and learn something new.

I recommend this book to any fan of the Fab Four.

A Useful, Intriguing Day-By-Day Look at the Beatles

I picked up this book back in, I believe, January. It's filled with tons of Beatles facts and stories, and I found it to be refreshing to read, considering that I'm a huge Beatles fan, and I would read anything sort of book of them on any given day. I enjoyed learning about their lives, and their life before, during and after the Beatles. Considering that it's quite a large book, I was never bored with it, and I found it just as entertaining to read now as the first time I opened it.

    John, Paul, George and Ringo

I actually bought two of these books. One was a well appreciated gift.
also, friends are interested in it. I think it is a well researched and unbias book. It is a must have for true Beatles fans.

    I Also Recommend:

    WELL I LIKE IT..

Obviously, some other people did not like this book and I was only average on some parts. But all in all, I felt it was a 4 star book just for the nostalgia value. I have always been a Beatles fan--was watching Ed Sullivan when they first came to America and thought they were so cool I would die (I was really really young). And I still think they are the best of the best. I liked this book because I felt it was fair to all four Beatles and did not favor one over the other. The pictures were great and the reading was easy and breezy. This is not for those looking for gossip or lurid examination of sex/drugs/rock & roll...it is a book their children could enjoy. And I think there are enough rip off, tell all books around (Anyone one feel offended? Good! Some people make their living off The Beatles who have never and will never even breathe the same air as them--it's pathetic). So, if you are a Beatles fan who wants to FEEL GOOD when reading about them instead of sad and ashamed, read this book.

I didn't like the color of the names, or the lettering/fonts.

This was a gift. But from what I reviewed before giving it to my Beatle fan was that I thought it was well put together with great pictures and info. I also like the record list at the end of the book...what a great reference book to look for a particular album! The response I received from the person I gave it to, was that it was a great reference book in all aspects.
