    John Wayne in the Movies

I have always enjoyed John Wayne movies, but this book provides insight into John Wayne's movie history. It tells of his long career and how he got started in the movie business. It also tells of his personal dealings with directors and other actors. John Ford, the director, was a major influence on his career and sometimes harsh with his demands. This book highlights his major films, but can not cover all of them because he made so many films that I would consider minor works. The book is well organized by timeframes of 10 years each. It documents major films within each 10 year period. The photos are well done and give the reader a feeling for each movie. This is a book that is hard to put down once you start, but can also be used as a reference guide.
