All Music Guide - Cub Koda
The original greatest-hits package, Johnny's Greatest Hits stayed on the charts for ten years. The collection includes "Chances Are," "It's Not for Me to Say," "Wonderful! Wonderful!," and "The Twelfth of Never." It seldom gets more romantic than this.

THE GREATEST- FROM TEEN TO FIFTYSOMETHING

THIS WAS ONLY THE SECOND ALBUM I BOUGHT BY JOHNNY---40 YEARS AGO. I PLAY IT SO OFTEN THAT I HAD TO RE-BUY THE LP, AND SUBSEQUENTLY PURCHASE THE CASSETTE FOLLOWED BY THE CD. I NEVER, NEVER TIRE OF LISTENING TO JOHNNY'S MELLOW TREATMENT OF EVERY SONG IN THIS COLLECTION. HE TUGS AT MY HEART AS HE OOZES MELODIC PASSION FROM ''WILD IS THE WIND''. WITH ''WHEN SUNNY GETS BLUE'' JOHNNY BREATHES INTO MY HEART A RESIGNATION OF LOST LOVE. (SADLY FOR ME THIS BECAME PROPHETIC) NEVERTHELESS, EACH AND EVERY SONG IS A VOCAL MASTERPIECE. EVERY NOTE PERFECTION.
