This disc is most notable in that veteran swing pianist John Bunch welcomes two up-and-coming players to his quintet: tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton and trumpeter Warren Vache. Both Hamilton and Vache had recently been discovered and they are full of fire, inspiring the trio of Bunch, bassist Michael Moore, and drummer Connie Kay. Another plus is the repertoire which matches standards including heated versions of "I Would Do Anything for You" and "This Can't Be Love" with obscurities Bunch's "I'll Take New York," "Seventh Avenue Scene," and "Ellington '66".
