About the Author

Jon Van Zyle is recognized throughout the US and the world for his striking paintings of Alaska's wildlife and landscape. More than three hundred of his works have been published as limited edition prints and posters over the past thirty years. Van Zyle, who lives with his artist wife Jona in a cedar home near Eagle River, Alaska, owns a team of Siberian huskies and twice has run the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. His series of annual Iditarod posters are featured in Iditarod Memories published by Epicenter Press. A two-time Iditarod racer, he has been the official Iditarod artist and is a member of the Iditarod Hall of Fame.
