About the Author

Ellen Wolfson Valladares is an award-winning writer/author, workshop facilitator, community volunteer, and mother. A native Floridian, she grew up in St. Petersburg and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Florida. She has worked as an editor, public relations professional, and freelance writer. Jonathan's Journey to Mount Miapu is her first novel. The book received several awards, including a Silver Award in the Florida Publishers Association President’s Book Awards, a Mom’s Choice Gold Award, and the 2009 Coalition of Visionary Resources Visionary Awards Book of the Year award.

A great fantasy for juvenile readers. Heroes come in the most unlikely forms. "Jonathan's Journey to Mount Miapu" tells of a child who is afraid of the dark, awkward, yet soon finds himself the only hope against a Shadow looming over a mountain he gets lost on. A host of charming characters go to help him on his journey, giving young readers much to inspire them and learn to value friends. "Jonathan's Journey to Mount Miapu" is a great fantasy for juvenile readers, recommended.
