USA Today best-selling author Susan Kearney is a native of New Jersey, writes full time and has sold books to the industries' top publishing houses. As an award-winning author, Kearney earned a Business Degree from the University of Michigan. Her knowledge and experience spans throughout the romance genre, and her fifty plus books include contemporary, romantic suspense, historical, futuristic, science fiction and paranormal novels-- with Lucan and Rion as part of this series. She resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband and children. After the death of her parents when she was just a child, Vivianne Blackstone focused on surviving and eventually became CEO of the Vesta Corporation. She's put her love life on hold, and her latest project is a spaceship designed to protect Earth from the deadly Tribes. But its engineer, Jordan McArthur, not only threatens her job, but her heart too. Jordan's past is tied to King Arthur, and he's on a mission of his own. He needs to find an ancient artifact in order to save the galaxy. Vivianne's ship is the only way to do that. When the ship is launched with a small, unsuspecting crew, Vivianne and Jordan are on a quest across the stars to the very end in order save all they hold dear. As the past and future collide, the passion between them is knocking down their defenses, and may just be the key to saving the world. This is book three in the Pendragon Legacy series, the final installment, with Lucan and Rion coming before it. These books stand alone, with it not being necessary to have read the other books, but I would recommend it, as you'll get more out of the experience if you do. If you've read the other books in this series, you won't be let down by this conclusion. It tied the other books together, continued the mission to save the galaxy, and was just as hot as the first two. Though I enjoyed the others, each book built in intensity, making this one pop. In this genre, an author really has to make the reader believe the plot is possible. Susan not only does that, she makes you wonder 'what if'. The secondary characters added nicely to the plot, the setting was laid out in great detail, and the main characters were relatable. Here is an author who knows her conflict too, making this very hard to put down. If futuristic romance is the future of romance, I'm on board.especially if Susan Kearney is writing them! Jordan is the third book of the Pendragon Legacy, following on from Lucan and Rion. It works well as a standalone novel, except for some rather strange concepts that were probably introduced more convincingly earlier (two-hearted dragon-shapers in particular). The story combines Arthurian legend with sci-fi, sending hyper-intelligent businesswoman Vivianne Blackstone out into space on a prototype spaceship with the mysterious, alluring, and not entirely truthful engineer Jordan McArthur at the helm, plus some scientists and stowaways. The space-farers find themselves on a quest to find and unite certain missing artifacts. Rather jarringly, one artifacts in particular induces intense lust between the main protagonists, plus a touch of shared memories. The characters' backstories are intriguingly drawn through the remembered scenes. But the plot becomes somewhat tortuous to a reader unfamiliar with "The Tribes" of earlier books. Tension grows as the Tribes attack earth and the search becomes a race against time. Chaos, rather like that once cause by reading "War of the Worlds" on US radio, devours Jordan's homeland, and the protagonists wonder if there'll be anything left to save by the end of the tale. The final scene is a delightful twist on space opera and good fun to read. I enjoyed the tale enough that, having found a stray copy of Rion at the bottom of a bookshelf, I shall probably read more. But this probably isn't a series for readers too attached to solid historical or scientific interpretations of mythology.

This is a great series, I hope it continues on. This is a very enjoyable and original in the choice of subject that ties in legend and the sci-fi with romance and adventure. The characters are well developed and you will love the heroes and really dislike the villains. An excellent way to spend a lazy afternoon with a pot of tea and a fluffy pillow. Even better if you have never read any of this series to get all three installments and spend an entire weekend off adventuring.

This was my favorite of the series. I Kearney's writing style has gotten better over the course of the three books.

The third in Susan Kearney's Pendragon series, Jordan is my favorite so far. The story centers on the mystery of Jordan and his relationship to the Holy Grail and the Staff and how these unique items can help save Earth from the Tribes. It helps to have read the earlier books in the series, because they help explain the world that Jordan and Vivianne live in and what they're fighting. There is plenty of action as Jordan and Vivianne travel through space and explore strange planets to find the clues and artifacts that they need to create a weapon strong enough to fight the invading Tribes. But there is an equal part of romance and rather explicit love scenes as well. Overall, Jordan is a fun escape. The final installment in The Pendragon series finds an unlikely candidate trying to save the Earth by finding King Arthur's Holy Grail. Jordan McArthur has lived so many lives and taken so many forms, including an owl, since his Camelot days but all of it has lead him to this time and place where the fate of the earth lies literally in the hands he has wrapped around The Ancient Staff. Jordan served as Merlin to King Arthur and finding the Holy Grail is the key to turning back the Tribes that want to annihilate the plant Earth. Jordan knows the risk he is taking and the cost will be his life but nothing can stop him from destroying the Tribes but maybe his boss and co-owner of the spaceship Draco, Vivianne Blackstone. Getting her on board with his farfetched search and rescue plan and letting her know the whole truth about him and the magic surrounding the spaceship seems the only way. He will tell her the truth and see even after learning he is a shape shifting dragon if trust is in the equation. However, Vi questions his allegiance to the project, to Earth and most importantly his loyalty to her once their mere attraction turns into a passion so intense neither can control nor contain it. Their lust and need for each other is burning hotter than the engines of the spaceship. Before Jordan has a complete understanding of how the ancient staff works or an ability to control the pulses of energy and invisible bursts of power it has to be harnessed into use by the spaceship and put to full utilization as a power source. He finds without it he is unable to keep the spaceship working to guide him to fulfill his destiny of destroying his enemy and keeping Earth safe. Along the way he and Vivianne explore planets, have a close encounter with Arthur, and go deep inside a cave looking for mystical keys. But their searching helps them find the pieces needed to conquer the evil doers as well as cause them to stumble upon the most dangerous human discovery - love. They try to stop it, fight against it with everything they have but in the end the one common denominator they both share besides memories is love for each other that no artificial source of power can produce. Jordan wants to give his life for Vi but is he willing to give his love as well because they are now one in the same option. It is never a good idea to fall in love with one book over another in a series because it seems unfair to the others and the reader would not be at book three had they not loved the first two. But Jordan's story in this series is a mold breaker because he is more than dashing good looks or the last man able to fight for earth's salvation he is a selfless man who will risk everything including his life to help others. He seeks to do the right thing and believes that his existence is secondary only to the salvation of others especially Vivianne and while he wants to spend his life with her he realizes that one person can change the outcome for everyone and he is willing to risk his life and love for that cause. There are so many great men but a stand up guy is hard to find. Jordan and Vivianne are such a strong couple but stand alone just as well which makes them both amazing characters. The Tribes destroy any planet in the galaxy who defies their edicts. Their current plan is to devastate the earth for rebelling as no one defies the Tribes. Vesta Corporation CEO Vivianne Blackstone works on a spaceship to protect earth from the venomous Tribes. When she realizes her chief engineer, Jordan McArthur, submitted a phony résumé, she confronts him with the evidence. Instead of denying what she shows him, Jordan sends the spaceship Draco into space with him, Vivianne, some workers and a dog on board. Jordan has a vendetta that goes back centuries when Trendonis of the Tribes destroyed his world. Once known as Merlin, he uses his Staff as the fuel source to propel the Draco, but he and his crew must obtain the three Keys of Space, Wind, and Soil to power up his Staff in order to link it with the Holy Grail or watch earth face annihilation. He is falling in love with Vivianne, but Jordan conceals his feelings because if he succeeds in saving the earth and beyond by destroying the Tribe, he dies too. The third Pendragon Legacy (see Lucan and Rion) is an excellent finish to a strong romantic science fiction trilogy with a terrific Arthurian magical link. The lead couple is a wonderful pairing of two strong personalities who are in conflict as she wants to save her planet while he wants to save a universe. Fans will enjoy this exciting thriller in which the courageous heroes know that if they succeed in defeating the Tribe, he expects to die but harder on his soul, he fears she will too; a risk she willingly takes.
