About the Author

Bestselling author REFILOE MOAHLOLI is passionate about writing stories that bring out the best in the human spirit and that children can identify with and celebrate themselves. She grew up in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape and obtained a B.Comm degree in Information Systems from the University of Witwatersrand. After a stint in the corporate world, an eye-opening assignment to Mumbai led to her pursuing her dream of becoming a full-time writer. She has won numerous awards for her work. Refiloe currently lives and works in Johannesburg and this is her ninth book with Pan Macmillan South Africa.

GABI BOY is a qualified teacher and taught in South Africa as well as abroad. In 2012 she started a children's clothing business with a friend, where she fell in love with graphic design. After they sold the company she decided to pursue her love for graphic design and illustration. In 2020 she was one of three winners of an illustration competition which gave her the opportunity to write and illustrate her own children's book for a local publisher. Since then she has had the privilege of illustrating multiple books. Gabi lives in Durbanville with her husband Greg and their daughters Hannah and Lily.


Refiloe Moahloli is passionate about writing stories that bring out the best in the human spirit, stories where children and the inner child in adults can identify and celebrate themselves.
