Would have been good but only 15 pages loaded

I don't believe a journal is only 15 pages long. I was just getting into it and bam it was over. bear-lady

A heart- tearing look at our nations history

Every American History student should read this journal to get an accutate view of what war and wounds meant to every soldier and family before medical advancements. Unlike today most wounded warriors died in squalid conditions. Thank Goodness for modern medicine available for today's soldiers. This is not just a story; it was life and death to our great great grandparents. LadyB

Interesting - too short to be a book

This was more an essay than a book. Just 15 pages. Seems like there should be more. I'm glad it was free. I'd have hated to pay for it.

Teasing glimpse to the real thing 2.5 stars

I was disappointed at the short nature of this "book", if you could really call it that. A whole whopping 15 pages, that starts to whet your appetite and then directs you to follow up on the website for more. Glad it was a freebie, I'd be none to happy if I had actually paid for it. That being said, if the whole of it were available in either hard copy or ebook format I think it would be a worthwhile purchase and an engaging read.

Highly recommended for both Nurses and Non Nurses~ Womans and Social History

This is the real thing. A short but honest report on the efforts of a Nurse on the front lines during the Civil War. Powerful and haunting. I reflect back on her words as I mentor women in the workplace.

    Short Story

While interesting this book was a pretty short read. A little mumble jumbled, no real story or understanding of character.

    Way to Short !

Could be very interesting but would not consider this a "Book since it is only 15 pages long. Hardly worth the time it took to download it !

    Interesting

It was so interesting to learn how things were at that time in the history of our country and how people were, how they thought and how things were then. It begins to put the peices of the puzzle together to learn from then to now, which will be tomorrows history.

    A LOT skimpy

A previous review really nailed it...a little skimpy. I see that and raise it to...a lot skimpy. Very disappointing. Cant think of anything i learned. Journals are treasures for sure but this one needs MORE to attain treasure status.

    Okay

I thought I would like this book because I am a nurse and could associate with it, but I was disappointed. Author was very scattered with ideas and hard to follow, also book was very short.
