Meet the Author

Martha Day Zschock majored in art at Connecticut College and earned her master's in education from Lesley College. Zschock is the author and illustrator of all the books in the Journey Around series. A former elementary teacher, she developed her first book, Journey Around Cape Cod and the Islands from A to Z, from field trips with her students. She lives in Orleans, Massachusetts.

    A Beautiful Collection, Delicious, Enchanting Foray Going Home Into Joy!

    Journey Around Boston from A to Z is a beautiful, enchanting new book. Zschock gives an amazing peek into Massachusetts¿ past and present in this not-just-for-toddlers alphabet book. The illustrations are delightful and detailed. Inserts reveal more information and their inclusion allows several stories to be told in this one book. ¿A¿ begins the book, of course, and offers ¿Abolitionists aided African Americans,¿ certainly not your typical ¿a¿ is for ¿apple¿ review of the alphabet. Journey Around Boston from A to Z offers an engaging tour of Boston and the surrounding area. A more detailed text is offered on each page for the next stage of reader, coupled with fun facts sprinkled throughout. This is a must-have book for every family¿s library and will surely be loved by Bostonians and Bean-town buffs, as well.
