This is the story of PAt Garret told by a 100+ year-old Spanish alchemist. At first the idea sounds a bit far out but actually the musings of the alchemist add depth to the story of Garret. Estleman writes traditional Zane Grey style oaters but he can also write frontier tales of considerable depth. His prose in this novel caught me by surprise. He seems to have put considerable effort into polishing it. If you like some of Larry McMurtry Western tales such as Buffalo Girls or Anything For Billy you might consider tracking this novel down. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
