Overwhelmingly refreshing :)
I came across one reviewer statement saying how we become saints or we go to hell. I perceived it as, no in between, no maybe. Profoundly spiritual and uplifting, ooh..pardon the cliche but this book truly is. The author's direct approach with his words and pointing out the scriptures to back it up. I found this statement so true, "Thus we need to do a better job of engaging men and helping them to recognize the spiritual part of themselves, to value it and cultivate it's growth." How can a man be a better father, husband? Not only men but for everyone, every human being. The author pointed out how this universe is a moral universe. We need to choose the moral paths at every decision point. He emphasize on courage, practice detachment, pray more, listen more, let go of unhealthy attachments, priorities, gratitude. I adore this part, the author wrote to his sons a list of rich experiences and lesson in it's simplest form, eight things to think about and pray about: Faith, Value, Education, Work Ethic, Love, Responsibility, Friendship, Be Real (don't pretend to be someone else.) Won this book on Goodreads, First Read Giveaway. Thank you, Darlene Cruz

This is one of the most inspiring and helpful books I have ever read. Outstanding! I love the examples of real men and the honesty of the entire book. I highly recommend Journey to Heaven to every Catholic man...and the women who love them. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
