Jamilia had just climbed into bed, her clothes for tomorrow neatly stacked on the shelf next to the bed, when she heard the engines stop. Why would the engines stop in the middle of the ocean? Then, her senses fully awake, she felt a bump. What was that? As she lay there, holding her breath and listening, a growing sense of anxiety and endangerment overcame her.
It is April 1912. Jamila and Elias are alone on a steamship in the middle of the Atlantic without parents and unable to speak English. How did they get here and will they survive?

Great! Continue please.
I feel you could be using more metaphoric language, and there should be consistency between how you type the names. Sometime it's Pinepaw, and sometimes it's PinePaw. And Emerald, PoppyCloud seems to be PinePaw's adoptive mother.
PinePaw's P. O. V.
"Roll! Duck! Hit! Swipe!" LarkSong yowled. PinePaw's annoyance increased as she battled AdderPaw. Her brother was a lot stronger than her, as if he was older. Angry, she scratched him on the nose, claws unsheathed. Her brother let out a gasp and stumbled away from her. Pinepaw bit her lip, looking upset.
"PinePaw, if you spar with other apprentices in this clan, and you use your claws again, FallenStar will never make you a warrior. As punishment, I want you to go clean out the elder's den."
PinePaw groaned. Sunnysky sent AdderPaw to the medicine cat den, shooting a glare at PinePaw. PinePaw rolled her eyes and padded off to the elder's den.
PinePaw dragged new moss into the den, groaning. Seedstorm, one of the elders, smiled crookedly when she saw PinePaw.
"See, LotusFlower, I told you PinePaw would come see us. She sure has an interesting story,"
PinePaw cocked her head. "Huh?"
"Well, -" Her voice was cut off by a yowl.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the High Rock!" Fallenstar yowled. Frowning, PinePaw trotted out of the elder's den.
"Today, we are here for the making of two warriors. SwallowPaw and LittlePaw, please step forward. SwallowPaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and follow it even if you are at death's door?"
"I do."
"Then from this day forward, you shall be known as SwallowTail." FallenStar paused, then beckoned to LittlePaw.
"LittlePaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and follow it even at death's door?"
"I do."
"Then from this day forward, you shall be known as LittleCloud, in memory of PoppyCloud." PinePaw tensed, hot tears forming in her eyes. She nodded to SwallowTail, then quickly padded off.
[ Yes, I am aware that it is short. Sorry for the wait. I lost my notebook containing all my notes, but I found it recently. I might be able to write on New Years Eve, but don't count on it. I will not accept any more character applications. I would appreciate if you guys could advertise for me. I really hope you guys like it. If you think there is anything I should fix, feel free. If you think I'm copying your story, tell me. If I check out your story, and I think I'm copying it, I will change mine. Tell me now so I don't have to change it 20 chapters in. Tell me anything and everything. Do I need to step up my spelling, grammar, JUST TELL ME! ]
Meg &spades
