Overview

"Clarion of Destiny" is the eight volume fantasy tale of Leena, a young hedge witch in training selected by destiny to combat the greatest challenge her world has known. In an epic journey that leads through foreign lands and mysterious realms where demons, monsters and magic rule, this inexperienced young girl is forced to overcome a protected childhood to face challenges that would crush far more experienced adventurers. With each step, each passing day, she draws closer to a malevolent force so formidable it has defeated the mightiest armies and the strongest magic in her world. How can one lone girl hope to overcome an evil that has never known defeat?

In Volume 8, Journey's End, Leena must prepare for a battle that will decide the fate of everything and everyone she holds dear. However, despite years of training and careful planning, the evil ruling her nation is always one step ahead. Leena is forced to realize, in the final battle, her skills may not be enough to save her world. In this final battle against the one she has been chasing for so long, will Leena be able to succeed in saving the land she once called home?

Meet the Author

Franz McLaren was sucked into the world of fantasy at ten years old when he read Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. After that, he delved headfirst into the stories of Dr. Seuss, and from then on, the stories of J. R. R. Tolkien, Terry Goodkind, Holly Lisle, J. K. Rowling, and many others have grown to be a significant part of his life. Throughout his life, Franz McLaren has traveled extensively, living in forty-eight of the fifty United States, England, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Zimbabwe, and vacationing in a host of many other nations. After experiencing all of the fantasies that his travels had to offer, Franz has now settled down into manifesting fantasies of his own. He uses his books to share these worlds and adventures with the rest of us. By entering his novels, you enter the part of his mind that forever lives just a bit to the left of reality.

So I've been following this series, I read the entire series in less than a week. I have to say that up until the end of this final book, I was hooked. The ending however, complete crap. *spoiler alert* did Leena and Darius get married? Did Leena find her family? Did Leena ever talk to the rescued children from Arvin's castle? To many unanswered questions at the end of this series left a bitter taste in my mouth. Perhaps a novella needs to be written following this book to answer such questions that would keep your readers happy?

Good story though 8 books was a bit long. The author needs a good proof reader, the excessive number of errors in grammer and spelling not to mention the changing of characters names from one paragraph to the next is a bit annoying.
