Overview

Sister Alex Carter is seemingly a pillar of spiritual strength, working diligently in the ministry, trying to help everyone. But she has a secret, and as a result, she is unable to help herself. In fact, she is really a ticking time bomb.

Although the one thing she wants more than anything else is to marry Deacon Joshua Bennings, a Bishop's son and the church's most eligible bachelor, she can't seem to escape the mistake from her past. So instead, she distracts herself with drama, striking a moral indictment against the church, competing with a flirtatious church sister for the man she loves, holding onto a job that's pulling her further away from the will of God, and trying to block an old lover's selfish attempt to expose her.

As Alex wrestles to hang on to her spotless reputation, her pre-packaged life begins to unravel, bringing her to the brink of losing everything she has worked so hard for. Alex is forced to face not only her past, but her future, as well. Will she ever learn that through Christ, no matter how dark it gets, joy comes in the morning?

A Powerful Tale Of Redemption And Forgiveness

A diligent worker at her church, Alex Carter has a heart for service, and her spiritual life is enriched because of it. Even better: she's engaged to the handsome Joshua Bennings, a bishop's son who just happens to be the church's most eligible bachelor. Just when it seems as though nothing can bring her down, though, Alex's life suddenly takes a turn for the worse when a dark secret from her past is threatened to be exposed. To make matters worse, while she struggles to clear her good name, a devious church sister with designs on Joshua begins scheming to take him away from Alex. As she finds herself forced to brink of losing everything she's worked so hard to gain, will Alex be able to summon the strength to overcome the greatest challenges she's ever faced...?

Joy Comes In The Morning is a powerful tale of redemption and forgiveness. Throughout the pages of her heart-rending new offering, author Ashea Goldson takes the reader deep into the heart, mind, and soul of a flawed, yet courageous fighter who is forced to learn that forgiveness applies as much to ourselves as to others. For all her virtues, perhaps the only vice that Alex carries is her inability to move beyond past mistakes that she's committed in her life; in commendable fashion, though, Goldson uses Alex's forced spiritual metamorphosis to display for the reader the importance of learning how to embrace that which we often tend to shun the most: God's omnipresent love and forgiveness for us all - no matter how egregious our infractions may have been. As such, Joy Comes In The Morning is an inspiring reminder that - while we may strive to be perfect - there's absolutely nothing wrong with realizing that we're not. An enjoyable read.
