After reading 'The Joy of Doing Things Badly' I felt compelled to write...even if it meant my writing would never be recognized by anyone other than me. I read her book in six hours and began writing the very next day. It was April 9, 2006...my book went into print in March of '07. Maybe I'll never be famous but that's okay. That wasn't my goal. Thank you, Veronica, for teaching me that I can do things for the sake of pure enjoyment and that I don't have to be great at something to love doing it. I've mentioned this book in one of my chapters, and quoted a part that I found remarkably moving. She is so open and candid. She wrote about things that had to take courage to publicize, but her courage sent an inspirational spark towards my ambition. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking a unique outlook on life. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

This is a wonderful book by Veronica. I laughed and nodded my head in agreement when reading about the mistakes she made. If Veronica can pay of her credit card debt, so can I! As I read the book, I looked back on my own life and could relate 100%. I'm going to give copies of this book to the high school and college girls that I mentor. I want them to know they can achieve anything and be successful even if they make some mistakes along the way.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I loved the title of the book, and the description, and really looked forward to reading it. However, the author is SO full of herself, continually bragging about how accomplished she is, where she has been, what she has done, that it hardly feels like the 'everyday', funny, self-depreciating woman that is depicted in the description and title. Unfortunately, this book was a big disappointment. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
