Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Judy Moody Predicts the Future in the famously temperamental third-grader's fourth adventure by Megan McDonald, illus. by Peter H. Reynolds. Here Judy, equipped with a mood ring, convinces herself and her classmates of her clairvoyant capabilities. Fans can track their own mood swings with The Judy Moody Mood Journal; the paper-over-board volume, with lined pages and Reynolds's occasional spot art, sports a spinner set into the cover, whose arrow (when spun) lands on one of 10 possible Judy moods. Sections such as "Favorite Pets" suggest prompts and provide quotes from the books to spark budding writers' entries. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature - Heather Christensen
Now Judy Moody fans can keep track of their own moods, feelings and thoughts, in this fun journal. A short introduction by the author explains how a journal can be used. About a third of the book consists of blank, lined pages. Many of the pages have a small illustration and a short quote from one of four Judy Moody books. There are also writing prompts that ask kids to write about their most embarrassing moment, or the funniest thing that ever happened. Some of these prompts reference characters and episodes from the Judy Moody series, like a page about Stink, Judy's younger brother, that talks about his nickname and encourages kids to write about their own nickname or create a rhyme for their name, like Judy Moody. A few of the pages have room for kids to add their own drawings. This book is a fun way for kids to express themselves and strengthen writing skills. Reviewer: Heather Christensen
