Meet the Author

Jules Gabriel Verne (French pronunciation: [ʒyl vɛʁn]; February 8, 1828 – March 24, 1905) was a French author who pioneered the science fiction genre. He is best known for his novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870), A Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), and Around the World in Eighty Days (1873). Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before air travel and practical submarines were invented, and before practical means of space travel had been devised. He is the second most translated author in the world (after Agatha Christie). Some of his books have also been made into live-action and animated films and television shows. Verne is often referred to as the "Father of Science Fiction", a title sometimes shared with Hugo Gernsback and H. G. Wells.

Great compilation of his greatest masterpieces!

I have started reading in the 4,000+ page compendum of Jules Verne's writings. This seems to be easily read, easily appreciated, and well worthwhile. I am looking forward to reading the novels as I get to them. This saves a BUNCH of Library Shelf Space in an already crowded library. Wife had threatened to sell me and/or books if more came into the house. Some people have no sense of humor.

    Incredible

I watched the movie Jorney to the Center if the earth and it made me want to read the book. Then I found this and I got crazy over it. Trust me it better then buying the whole collection sepretly because this is three dollars and if you buy the 29 books sepretly it might cost 29 dollars! It is a good buy if you ask me and you get more than 4500 nook pages. Overall highly recommended!
