Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sharon Oliver
On New Year's Day a renegade psychiatric patient told Callum Ormond that his father's death was no accident and that Cal's life is in danger. It's now July and Cal has spent 6 months on the run, all the while trying to decipher the notes and drawings left behind by his father. Along the way Cal has encountered some people who definitely want to kill him, as well as a faithful friend and a coconspirator of questionable intent. This seventh volume in the "Conspiracy 365" series moves along at a breakneck pace as Cal finds a long-lost relative, commits murder, creates mayhem and dangles from more cliffs than seem possible in a mere 181 pages. This series certainly provides a sufficient amount of adventure and readers who invest in the first few books may hang in for the long haul. The twelve volume series may appear daunting to some reluctant readers, which is unfortunate as the pace is well suited for impatient readers. Readers who invest in the first few books may hang in for the end of Cal's story, if they can keep track of the twists and turns along the way. Reviewer: Sharon Oliver
