I read this book for an application project on the five themes of geography in my honors geography class. This book was pretty helpful at giving me some information on the five themes of geography. It explained in great detail about what the people were doing at all times. But it didn't give you enough detail about the surroundings and were the people were located. The book explained how the people were doing things and at what time they were doing these things but it didn't tell you were. I really liked the story line to this book and how it's about the Leal family seeking freedom so they secretly go from Cuba through the vast ocean to Miami on a long and hard journey. Over all this book was a good reading level for a 9th grader and it worked well for this project. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
