Barnes & Noble - Beth Amos

The sequel to Disney's animated adventure Jungle Book arrives with a diverse soundtrack stuffed with upbeat songs and jungle shenanigans. Barnes & Noble - Beth Amos

The sequel to Disney's animated adventure Jungle Book arrives with a diverse soundtrack stuffed with upbeat songs and jungle shenanigans. The journey begins with Smash Mouth's newly edited hip-hop rendition of "I Wan'na Be like You (The Monkey Song)" and traverses vaudeville ("The Elephant's Face"), the blues ("Jungle Rhythms"), reggae ("I've Got You Beat"), jazz ("Queen of the Jungle"), and big band music ("W-I-L-D," featuring John Goodman as that boogie-woogie bear, Baloo) before it's done. Fans of the original Jungle Book soundtrack will enjoy the sassy, brassy remake of the classic, Academy Award–nominated "The Bare Necessities" and an encore production of "Colonel Hathi's March," which boasts syncopated rhythms and blaring trumpets that earn the subtitle "The Elephant Song." The rocking rhythms of "He's a Lucky, Lucky Snake" and "Never Smile at a Crocodile" should stir up plenty of jungle fever, but the tranquil orchestral music and female vocals in "Right Where I Belong" and "Braver" should soothe the soul of the most savage beast. Like its predecessor, this Jungle Book soundtrack is fun, fabulous, and destined to become a beloved classic.
