Printed without words, the parent gets to make up the story, or just cuddle with baby while they explore together.

Jungle Rumble! is about creatures in the wild. Kaaren Pixton’s art is bright, swirling with color, and reminiscent of Eric Carle, and it attains an almost 3D richness on the special paperlike stock of the book.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Many young children are like little sponges absorbing all that they see and hear around them. In these beautiful illustrations, Pixton has introduced a variety of animals that live in the jungle. There is a crocodile, parrot, lion, rhino, and more. Many of the pictures feature birds in addition to the large animals. For example there is a symbiotic relationship between the rhinos and oxpeckers (or tick birds) which eat the insects that collect on its body. It is part of a series called "Indestructibles" which according to the blurb on the back cover are built for the way babies "read" with their hands and mouths. These books will not rip or tear and are washable. They are made for baby to hold, grab, chew, pull and bend. Wow that is a mouthful. But parents and teachers can find many uses for these books. You can tell your own story and point out many items in the eye-catching illustrations such as the flora and coloring of the featured animals. Teachers could use the book to let kids who are struggling readers tell their own stories and older ones to write a story based on what they see in the pictures. What an interesting concept. This is a wordless book that could really be used beyond the suggested age group. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot

These books are amazing. I love being able to give my baby her

These books are amazing. I love being able to give my baby her very own book (actually more like a magazine which is even better for her, she loves to crinkle them up and chew on them) so that she doesn't get upset when she can't have mine. I also like that there are no words so I can make up a new story to tell her as often as I like or I can just tell her the names of the animals and plants. My baby is seven months old and she loves them and so does my two year old nephew. Only wish I had found these sooner!
